This position will provide support to the Manufacturing Group and serves as a business partner to the Directors of Operations. A key role of this position is ensuring that all employees understand the business goals and objectives and how they play a key role in meeting these objectives. To achieve this, you will champion and ensure that all employees are treated fairly and with respect, and that ongoing open two-way communication channels are used by both management and employees.
The scope of this position includes: employee relations, employee engagement, recruitment, safety programs and administration, and legal compliance. Also responsible for supporting Human Resource programs in order to ensure adherence to Company policy and government regulations, and maintenance of timekeeping, government, safety and confidential/sensitive records.
Working closely with Operations to ensure employees work safety, and that safety is a focus of all HR practices.
Actively teams with all leaders in the manufacturing organization by understanding the business, coaching and advising managers and employees in the manufacturing organization on confidential or sensitive personnel problems. Participates in disciplinary action and ensures equitable actions and solutions, maintains an awareness of potential employee concerns and develops preventative action.
Reviews, recommends, establishes and enforces improved operating policies and procedures for the company. Implements and ensures communication and coordination of Human Resource programs to line management.
Manages recruiting process for all hourly manufacturing positions at the facility, including preparation of the affirmative action plan, all activities that support our plan and annual training. In addition, facilitates all affinity groups through their lifecycle.
Leads and facilitates training for all levels of employees. Including the onboarding and some safety programs .
Supports the hourly compensation program as needed in coordination with Compensation and Benefits Manager Manufacturing.
Monitors and authorizes performance appraisals/merit increases for the manufacturing group.
Commitment to keep abreast of changes in regulations, laws, practices, and developments related to economic and labor trends, safety, working environment, employee relations.
Assist in other Human Resources functions and activities as requested and conduct special studies and projects as required.
Job Requirements:
Five + years of Human Resource experience as a generalist. One+ years safety experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect business strategy and objectives with employee engagement and development.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment of at least 50 employees.
Experience with Continuous Improvement/Lean a plus.
BS degree in Business/Human Resources or related field required. MBA preferred. HR Designation PHR, SHRM-CP preferred.
