Position Overview We are looking for an energetic professional in our office located in Bellevue, Washington to conceptualize and manage the execution of MOD store designs (space planning, fixture and furniture selection, finish and material selection, interior graphics and art, exterior signage, etc.) consistent with the overall brand image. Key Responsibilities: Lead the MOD Store Design Process (store planning, schematic design, and design review/approval) for assigned projects (company, franchise partner) in order to deliver store designs in accordance with relevant milestones and key dates coordinated with MOD Pod Teams (operations, real-estate, creative, and construction)
Manage architecture and engineering consultants in the preparation of permit/bid/construction documents
Support the procurement of vendor packages including signage, casework, lighting, equipment, graphics/artwork and FF&E
Support construction teams, consultants and/or contractors with clarifications and revisions during the bid and construction period
Lead the design and design processes associated with remodel and refresh projects
Support, inform, influence and manage the design, development and implementation of new programs and initiatives impacting store development
Support the development of design standards, tools, and processes
Liaise with operational teams and facilities to inform the layout of stores and the development of standards
Champion the brand and its realization in all forms
Assess and balance design and budget goals, seek out the best solutions based on the cost parameters influencing each project
Ensure there is focus on current projects and responsibilities while remaining forward thinking to progress new ideas and concepts
Be open and accessible to ensure positive and continued communication between MOD team members and external consultants, vendors, and partners
Constantly assess changing schedules and priorities to ensure assigned responsibilities are coordinated with all relevant person/parties and completed on time Basic Qualifications: Undergraduate Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or Interior Design
5+ years of retail store and/or restaurant design experience with a leading brand or brands
Strong project management skills
Good design and presentation skills
Excellent AutoCAD & SketchUp skills; Adobe Suite and other presentation skills Relevent Interior design experience Preferred Qualifications Knowledgeable in material selection and sourcing
Technically adept, experience in preparing quality and detailed construction documentation
Knowledge of North American jurisdictional processes to gain building, health, signage and other related approvals
Familiar with professional design consultancy management including Architecture, MEP Engineering and Structural
Familiarity with food service equipment and systems
Willing and capable to work in a fast-paced environment with sometimes limited oversight
Able to deal with sometimes ambiguous circumstances, make decisions and progress work
Passionate about retail/restaurant design, and enjoy working with others who are equally passionate about their work Physical Requirements: Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically. Location: 2035 158th Court NE #200, Bellevue WA, 98008 Additional Requirements: Domestic travel of up to 25% to future site locations, construction job sites, meetings with consultants, governing agencies, and others is required periodically.
